open up the whole seam, the glue has failed and pulls apart easily: remove the end clips with the two screws: clean out all the white flaky crap inside the seam: open up the ends and align the rod with the screw holes and guide pin facing the holes in the cover: reinstall the two screws to keep the rod aligned: I had a bunch of leftover speaker adhesive from when I reconed my Altec Lansing 310 speakers, basically a tough rubber cement. ni[X]it used black RTV... I get that shit everywhere (hands, face and hair), so I used this instead: haven't seen a clothespin in 20 years, so I went upstairs to Mrs. VorpalZed's quilting studio and robbed every clip I could find. Big black binder clips are the best for this: ran a thickish bead of adhesive on the bottom part, let stand for a minute until tacky: all clipped up. let dry overnight: Any rubber cement stuff squeezed out picks off fairly easily: end clips screwed back on, cleaned up... donesies: tip of the chapeau to ni[X]it for the original writeup from back in the day: Split Car Net Repair TTZD
